Defrost the shrimp. We defrost ours by placing the bag into the refrigerator for a slow defrost, and usually the night before we plan to prepare them.
Rinse and clean shrimp by removing shell, legs, & tail, if desired.
Butterfly shrimp. Remove inner vein, if desired.
Place the shrimp into a medium-sized mixing bowl. Add freshly squeezed lemon juice, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix to combine.
Place butterflied shrimp in a single layer on your 9 x 13-inch baking dish or larger, if needed,
Pour melted butter evenly over shrimp.
Spoon approximately 1 Tbsp of the grated parmesan cheese onto each opened, butterflied shrimp.
Broil in your oven for 5-7 minutes or until done. Shrimp will become white with areas of soft peachy-pink, and the cheese will become lightly golden when done.
Remove from oven broiler and serve immediately.
